Kids & Family Ministry
At Sojourn, our overall philosophy of youth and family ministry can be summed up with the following: “The parent is the primary youth pastor.” That doesn’t mean that we don’t have opportunities for youth to get together and have fun (see below), but it does mean that we want to encourage and equip parents to disciple their children. We also believe that a multigenerational discipleship approach that connects our kids to the broader church is better than one that frequently separates and isolates them.
Throughout the year, we offer age-specific Christian education classes for all ages during our Christian Education hour from 9-9:50 am on Sunday mornings. (Note: The Christian education hour only meets for 2-3 months in the fall and spring, so make sure we are in session before you show up).
During the cooler months we have church wide park days the first Sunday of each month. This is an opportunity for families and kids to get to know each other and have fun outside of the normal Sunday service setting. Location for the park days is usually Cactus park located just down the road from our worship service.
Pastor Scott also meets with the Middle / HS group 2x per month in the fall and the spring. These meetings happen on Sunday’s from 4-5:30 pm. If you would like to know more about this group, contact scott@sojournchurchaz.com
Throughout the year we have several more organic events that happen for youth & family. Watch for events like Father and son/daughter camping trips, moms and daughter meetups, etc.
